I don't want it to be to crowded, but not dead either. We will be staying at the Gran Caribe Real. We stayed there last year, but it was end of Sept early Oct. Thanks for the help.

I went a few years ago in early July - it was a great time to go. It was hot, but not unbearable. The weather was great, only rained one afternoon during the week we were there. Also, it wasn't very crowded....ie There were no spring breakers there, so the bars and restaurants were not overly crowded.
Not sure if it is still there, but if you are interested, there is a great little Italian restaurant you can go to. You'll need to take a taxi there, since its a little out of the way. Its called Stefano's. Address is Bonampak No. 177, SM 4 Cancun, Q. Roo. (I have a magnet from them here on my filing cabinet).

As a rule, June is a very good month to go to Cancun. It is busy, but not too busy. You will see some graduating seniors on their senior trip, and maybe a few college kids. Weather is still not too hot.....and as for crowds....just average.....enough, but not too much. Gran Caribe Real is my favorite resort in Cancun.....aside from Royal Sands, which is a timeshare. Food is good, pool and beach is great...and I love the rooms. I have never had a bad experience at Gran Caribe Real. The location is one of the best in Cancun....in my opinion....walking distance to Margaritaville and Pat O'Briens. Don't fret over the crowds....should be just about right!!! You will have a wonderful trip!!!

We have a group of six to stay at Riu Cancun for a week beginning on May 19-26. As of last week the hotel is booked solid. We booked our trip three weeks ago. The Riu Cancun offers 569 rooms. Hope that tells you something. Two years ago on the same dates, we stayed at Iberostar Lindo and the temperature was in the 90's every day with very little rain. It was great to walk in the rain just to cool off while it lasted, 15mins. the most. Have fun and make the best of it.

Ahhh! Cancun is great! I went during Spring Break and that was the best experience of my life! (April) During Spring Break it was EXTREMELY HOT! If your planning on going in June it's just gonna be hotter, it may be soo hot that it's uncomfortable, so I'd say to go during mid or late spring for the best weather :)

It will be a HOT. Great hotel and location. Cancun is never dead but you will miss all the spring breakers. You will see more couples and families.

The beginning of the hurricane season.
Be sure to not wander off. Kidnappings, roberies, and organ theft are one some of things awaiting the tourist who wanders off.
