Can you turn a Tmagotchi off?

I have Tamagotchi and I keep it on my bookbag... when I go to school I pause it... is there any other suggestions I could do,or should I keep it paused?

sorry but the only way to keep it from dying is to keep it paused. there is no other way to pause you game.

turn of the volume so you can play but there is nothing else you can do
