It is possible, and very simple. If you do this, you must decide if you want this drive to work as the primary drive or as the secondary drive. If you make this drive the primary drive then that means it will be the main drive that your computer uses to boot into Windows. If you are running Windows XP, it may ask you to reinstall the entire OS or at least Validate the OS by calling Microsoft. If it is the secondary drive then you will be just fine. In both cases, you should JUMPER the drives accordingly. Look at the top of the drive, the sides, etc. You will see a chart or an engraving that explains where to put a piece of plastic on a couple of pins. This tells the computer which roll the drive will play, Primary or Secondary aka Master or Slave. * SATA drives dont' have jumpers that you would need to worry about.

yes it is very easy to take and put a different hard drive from one computer and put it in another computer and they will work as long as you have the hard drive formatted and loaded it will work
