when i try and make call of the hub phone i get no ring tone and the letters Hi appear in the right corner cant even dial the bassic numbers like 1471 any ideas

THE HOME HUB IS PANTS

SO many problems

SO many complaints

don't get me wrong, as an isp they're one of the BEST but that homehub is just a gloryfied doorstop.

get a voyager 2091 instead and throw that bloody mobile they send you out the window

Make sure that you have your modem plugged into the WAN port on your router, I have never heard of a wireless hub before, are you talking about an access point? IF there is a port on the back of your "wireless hub" or multiple ports, you need to use a wired port on the back of your router and connect it to the WAN port in the back of your "wireless hub".. Make sure DHCP is enabled if you use a dynamic ip address on the router. Also make sure in the tcp/ip properties for each one of your PC's that auto obtain IP is enabled. Try and ping your router if it works then you have a configuration error or its just not getting that signal from your modem. If you cant its the other way around and you dont have your router/pcs set up right, physically and/or logically.

dont even talk to me about about bt and the home hub ive had nothing but trouble with it

you couldn't have lost the paperwork that came with your equipment, yet!!
Check it out and you will be directed to BT Broadband Desktop Help where, following directions and asking questions there, everything will become clear. that is what "Help" is there for!
