As far as I know he was banned from speaking on behalf of the league at the all-star game. He was supposed to represent them for a few appearences on TV and radio.

true. he can no longer represent the nba as a public figure because the league said they dont agree with his opinions. he was supposed to make an appearance at all-star weekend but after what he said he cant do any of that stuff anymore. they basically cut all ties between the league and hardaway.

I hope it's not true. I had a huge problem with what he said, but not to the extent of wanting to see him banned. I don't think he's a bad person just someone who has the wrong view on homosexuals. If this is true then I think David Stern has taken the punishment too far.

FALSE He was banished from the allstar weekend events. Not banned from the NBA. He's retired anyhow and doesn't play. He cannot represent the NBA but he's not banned persay. He can still go and say he was a former NBA player.
