I am 26 weeks and doc told me to take Sudafed for my sinuses. I went to the store only to find they have a million different types of it! :)
Which one is the correct one? I have been using the green Sinus and Allergy...i hope its ok.
Can I get store brand as well?

Thanks :)

Sudafed is one of the brand names for Psuedophedrine, a decongestant and now has to be signed for from behind the pharmacy counter. (Because it was being abused and used for other purposes) You can buy Sudafed PE, which is a weaker, less effective decongestant from off the shelf. Any brand decongestant that is listed as Psuedophedrine on the back is the same thing and is usually 30mg per pill with 2 pills being the adult dose. You might want to check with your doctor's nurse about which Sudafed he meant... the weaker or the original. You can also buy Psuedophedrine in combination with Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Just read the labels.... but be careful taking combination over the counter cold remedies without reading the back and checking all the ingredients and finding out if your doctor approves them. Benadryl, a brand name for diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, is a common ingredient in cold medications, but is very mild and is often allowed by OB-GYN physicians also, but check with your doctor.

I would think that your doc would prescribed it to you... Take the red sudafed that is like 30 miligrams... That's what I was told to take from the doc

my doctor told me only plain sudafed...and like you, I was so confused when I saw all the different kinds that I just took tylenol. Call your doctor and tell him which one you bought just to be safe.
