How many fans are fed up with players being over-traded?

Question

I was raised back in the day and I think loyalty or the appearance of it is important. So I propose that no player be traded, either against his will or by his desire, more than twice in a five-year period, or something like that. This means NO MORE ONE YEAR ROLE-PLAYING CONTRACTS - YOU EITHER ARE, OR AREN'T A YANKEE - YOU CAN'T BE A RED SOX EVERY THREE YEARS AND GO BACK AND FORTH - YOU LEARN TOO MANY INSIDE THINGS ABOUT YOUR TEAM THAT CAN BE SHARED WITH YOUR ENEMY.

I think if such a situation where another trade loomed, one of the parties (the one that wanted the trade) should have to have the remainder of the player's contract get bought out and sit the entire period out, or the management or player would have to settle for a longer than desirable period (set by arbitration) with the next (or present) team, or not get signed. I am sick of seeing every major player play on their enemy's team as if loyalty meant nothing. (Jason Schmidt you are a traitor!) Thoughts, please

The tendency to shorter contracts will ultimately destroy any team's fanbase over the next decade as there would be no reason to root for Boston, just for Manny, which is not the true spirit of the sport, which is supposed to be TEAMWORK.

I hate all the player movement in baseball, its ridicules. All a player has to do is have a decent year and move to another team for a huge contract they really don't deserve. Watch this year's bust with Weaver. He had a few good games with the Cards, had a good performance during the World Series. He said he wanted a multi-year contract to stay with the Cards but his record shows he is in-consistent. The Cards offered him a two year contract but elected a one year contract with the Mariners. Without Duncan to hold his hand and the Cards offense he will fail miserably. Just one case in many the past tens years or so. Let the try to work a day or two at minimum wage and see how they like that instead. I respect those who honor their contracts and stay with a team for a long time. Guess I don't honor many these days.

Are you talking about, oh, this guy might like to throw a curve here or that guy swings on the first pitch??? Hello, we are in the technology age where a pitcher can look at every swing a hitter has ever taken and download it on their IPOD and watch it all day. GM's prefer to signing guys to shorter contracts in case they underperform, they are not on the hook.
Sounds like to me that u have some sour grapes about Schmidt leaving. Blame your team because the team didn't pony up. Also, that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with trade. He was a FA.

I'm a little sick of all the trading going on.You see players being traded 3 times every 8 years which can grow tiering.So I would agree with you.

I have a hard time keeping up with who is with what team. Yes, I'm tired of the trading. I am looking forward to the season though.
