the OLD laptop harddrives make a noise like that but the new ones dont so the answer lies on which one you have new/old.
and yes you can overclock the processor but you do not want to do that!!!! laptops are not like desktops they usually cant take anymore speed then what they are rated for because there little fans cant handle that much heat and it will just do more damage then good

No and no. Notebook drives used to be clunky, but now they are smooth. And NO you cannot overclock the processor. Notebooks are way different from desktops in that respect. What would you want to do with an overclocked notebook, cook on it?

Backup your files NOW!, your hard drive is going out. Your going to need a new hard drive, and no you cant overclock it. Your laptop probable has a 5400 rpm hard drive see if you can put a 7200 rpm in it. Your battery might not last a long between charges.

ERRRKKK is not a normal noise to be hearing. It could be a cooling fan or one of the drives getting ready to breakdown.

Noisy HDDs are considered bad. Sounds like it's going out. Bad bearings or bad motor inside of it.
