And George Bush will be president for another term. There is about as much of a chance of that. He has a low football IQ, an inaccurate arm, fumblitis, a bad attitude, poor receivers, etc. No chance. Even by your logic "best playing for the worst"-when was the last time an MVP came from a poor team??

There is no question of Vick's abilities.
But if you look at history and the issuance of the MVP, it generally goes to a player that is with a winning organization.
Awarding a MVP is very unfair to the rest of the team mates that play with that individual.
Vick has the ability to be an MVP, IF, his recievers catch the ball, his offensive line blocks for him, the running backs gain some yards so that he doesn't have to run so much, the defense gets him the ball more often, ...etc.
There are alot of factors involved before someone can be a "MVP", so its not really about everyone hating Vick, its Vick being in a situation that would allow him to have an MVP season.
If the rest of the team aren't doing their jobs, he can't do his.

I agree that he isnt as bad as poeple make him out to be, but he is not going to win the MVP. As Bill Walsh said, "a quarterback is only as good as his system." In Vicks case, the system is the WEst Coast Offense, a very 49er offense from a very 49er coach (former now, Jim Mora, former 49er coach). The problem is that the West Coast offense calls for an average QB with good accuracy for throwing lots of slants and curls. Michael Vick just deosnt fit into that system. The falcons front offense realized this, and put the blame on Mora, and now are bringing in another coach. The offense Vick would be amazing in would be an offense that runs alot, and has a lot of play action. Dunn and duckett can carry the ball, and all that needs to happen is the play action which would a) stop blitzing so much, which would free up space to run, and b) give the recievers more time to get open for a pass from vick.

Only on a cold day in Hell will Michael Vick be the NFL MVP. And I don't mean Hell, Michigan. One of the best playing for the worst team??? How many games the Vick lose on his own because of his bad decision making? At least three or four a year.

You are on the same thing he is on: Crack. The day the Ron Mexico wins the NFL MVP is the day that a boat will compete in the daytona 500. Vick is a good runner and a good athelete, he is a very below average "Quarterback". If any good runner lined up with the option to throw every time, well then they would get 1000 yards just as he does. As a matter of fact many running backs get 1000 yards each year and dont touch the ball every play with safety outlets (recievers) in case they get caught. Stop being rediculous. Go play more Madden.

No, way! He has a bad attitude, runs more than he throws and makes bad decisions. Here's an example of How good Vick is.
Alex Smiths Stats
2890 passing yards 16 TD 16 INT 180 Passing yrds/game 74.8 passer rating. Sacked 35 times
Micheal Vick Stats
2474 passing yards 20TD 13 INT 154 Passing yrds/game 75.7 passer rating. Sacked 45 times
Vick is inconsisdent and does't make good choices. Peyton should win MVP honors every year.

He will not be the MVP next year. His arm is not that good, good strength, poor acuracy. He's fast, but that doesnt matter. This isn't college. You throw matt shwaub in there who has a better arm than Vick, you could be lookin at a 8-8, 9-7 team, not a 7-9 team.

Heck no. Until he understands to be able to read the field quicker(at least more than the 1st read), get better receivers and a better offensive line, M Vick is not going anywhere. What is worse is that he has got a new head coach and a new offensive line coach which is switching from a zone blocking to a power blocking philosophy. Don't be surprised if Petrino gets frustrated and benches M Vick for Schwab in 2008.

Yeah except for the part that Michael Vick usually ends up with more rushing yards than passing yards. It's modern football. If you are a quarterback, you throw the ball. If you are a running back, you run the ball. That's why the Falcons will never win a Super Bowl with Vick there, because he is a quarterback who thinks he can win lots of games by running the ball.

Vick is a very talented player, but I think his best years are behind him. Petrino may devise more innovative tactics on offense next year, but he can't make the throws, the reads, or make the correct split-second decisions the QB needs to do to be successful. I think the owner of the Falcons is too hands-on and Petrino may only last 2 or 3 years, but probably longer than Vick.
