my mom wants me to incorporate her name in one of my future childs' name. i would like to but don't like the way it sounds with other names. it can be either a first or middle name to go with it, but i just can't find the right combination. please help.

It also helps to say the full name all together when choosing a name. Also reverse the middle and first around to see how it sounds.

All I can say is thank God my mom didn't think of Lula or she probably would have named me that. My name is Gayla and that's bad enough. I have a friend who adopted a 14 month old baby name Lula and changed it to Kylie. I loved my mother dearly but I sure didn't name my daughter Gertrude to please her. Really, don't do that to your child. I named my children a dignified name that has a cute nick name they can use if they want to and none of them hate their name. I tried to think how a name would look on a resume in their adult life and that seems to have worked out. I'm sure your mom is a lovely person but she is wrong in asking you to do this. Maybe you can use her middle name or something. Good luck!
