Yes. They will be the dark horse team the other teams in the East will think they can walk over. The Leafs will be getting their players on injured reserve back before or at playoff time then look out.
They are currently climbing the standings and 2 or 3 teams in or near playoff contention are sliding so that will ensure they make the playoffs this year.

Damn straight they will! Most of the Eastern Conference are in a dogfight for the last playoff spot, while the Bruins and the Panthers have just started to slip now. The Leafs are 8th and two and a half games behind the Sens who's in 5th and the Rangers are a game and a half behind the Leafs sitting in 11th. As long as they keep playing like they're and keep the Habs down whenever they can, they can make 6th or 7th easily.
Go Leafs!

I think they are in the same position a lot of teams are in as of now. The only team to maintain any kind of consistency the past few weeks is Pittsburgh. Even the teams at the top have been struggling, yet they retain their top spots by virtue of how far ahead they are. The inconsistency plaguing teams like Toronto, Carolina, Montreal, the Islanders, the Rangers, and even Atlanta will keep the bottom spots in the east very interesting down the stretch.

I certainly hope they pull it off. Currently they are in good shape with games in hand on most of the teams close to them in the standings. However, they have a very stiff schedule coming up with a load of games against the upper echelon of the conference. ie Buffalo, Ottawa, NJ. TB. They also have several games against the teams closest to them (NYI, NYR, Habs, etc) It should once again be an exciting stretch run for the Leafs in the increasingly tight Eastern Conference.
Perhaps the most important factor will be the play of Andrew Raycroft who seems to have stepped it up lately. If he can continue to show form, they will be hard to displace.

I would almost love it if they did, since 8 and 1 are matched up, and right now that would mean Buffalo versus Toronto in a playoff series. Thanks to the old rivalry and the fact that the teams are so close together as far as their home cities, those would be some wild games to be at!

They look like they are going to make it to the playoffs but anything can happen after the trade deadline. If they sell then they might not go to the playoffs but if they buy they might make it to the playoffs.

I think maybe so just because of the lack of competition. I don't think the Habs, Isles, Bruins or Rangers are very good. It will be one and done though. Probably via a sweep.
