I like gravel best... moss and grass and sand are nice but they're also a bit too soft to my liking, I'm proud of my tough feet so I enjoy rough surfaces more.
The worst is snails and slugs... not only are they sorta sticky-slimy, much harder to wash off than dog poo, but I also think it's kinda sad to step on a harmless little critter like that. The snails are the worse, I hate the sad little crunch they give. I try to watch out for them but sometimes after a spring rain I'll forget when I go out in the back yard and *crunch*. :(

the best is the most wonderful sand at the beach!
the worst was when I was a child wading in a lake, and I stepped on a piece of GLASS, and almost lost my toes! I was only about 4 or 5, and I was bleeding soo bad, I got about 70 stitches.

Nice warm beach sand, when your feet are cold. Dog poop, the absolute worst in bare feet....

best thing I ever stepped in was a pile of Rose Petals.....and the Worst would have to be on a Nail..... is that descriptive enough?

Ughhhh! I was barefoot when I decided to cut across some leaves and a slimy slug was stuck to one! makes me shiver just to remember. oh, and best would be nice warm sand!

Horses manure was not a sensuous delight.....
However, cool soft sand in the late evening on the beach feels so so so ... good!
