Ok, we went to McDonald's the other day, and my mom was stupid enough to ask if she could put her Big Mac on layaway. When they said that it wasn't possible, she threw her drink in the cashier's face and yelled "we're never eating at McDonald's ever again!"

So, besides that embarassment, I'm not allowed to go to McDonald's with my friends. And that's where I hang out with most of my friends, so now I barely see my friends. What should I do?

Well, not knowing your mom doesn't help me much, but I would suggest talking to her. Just explain to her that you like it there, and that you like chilling there. Also, explain to her, as nicely as you can, that putting a Big Mac on layaway is a pointless endeavor, and that when she does stuff like that (assuming she does these things often), it makes you feel uncomfortable. Just try talking to her, chances are, she may be more willing to listen then you may think. But I would also suggest getting other advice too, as I am only 18, but I have had my fair share of parental issues in my short life. Good luck!

Be happy. Mcdonald's is an awful place with awful food. If the worst thing in your life at the moment is not being allowed to go to McDonald's anymore then, seriously, you need to grow up.

I haven't set foot in a McDonald's for about 2 years now and I'm still here, still healthy and still have my friends. You're acting like it's the end of the world. I mean no offense to you but, as I said before, you really need to grow up.

So does your mom by the sound of it.

Does your family have money issues? Also is this a joke? If not to either your mother may need psychological help, she could be under a lot of stress or many other factors. As far as McDonald's good riddance, it's horrible unhealthy food anyways, consider yourself lucky not to go there. Find a new hangout like a park or a strip mall. Good Luck and remember even if she embarrasses you she is still your mother and of all people you should support and love her.

It sounds like your mom is going through "the change" (the menapause). I may be wrong but i know that women can go almost completely psychotic. My mom told me that when my grandma was going through the menopause she had a minor arguement with my grandad and then all of a sudden she went outside, got a big sledgehammer and started smashing the crap out of my grandad's car. My mom is going through "the change" right now and she completely loses it sometimes. I don't know. maybe your mom just has a very short temper. I know that your mom might annoy you and embarass you (whose parents don't? lol) but you just have to accept it and put up with it. Whenever she "loses it" just keep away from her. Arrange for you and your friends to hang out somewhere else. There's not much else you can do.

Your mom may have just had a bad day and she shouldn't just burst out in public like that. It's a bad influence to her kid: you. But just because McDonald's is not her favorite place doesn't mean you have to stop going there. You can eat there with your friends and hang out and your mom may not even have to order anything. I hope this helps.

If nothing helps, you and your friends may have to hang out at a different restraunt. I hope you won't have to do that.

Some might say go anyways but if you're caught by your parents thats not gonna go over too well is it? So plan "B" would be to get your friends to hang out at some other eatery. If they dont want to. I guess you'll just have to see them less. Decision time. Good Luck.
