Hey interesting thought. I suppose society and culture could have an effect on natural selection. Desirable traits are not necessarily the traits that are best designed for survival. Think of skinny women....are they truly the best choice for survival of the species?

no, just the opposite- now only those who do well in todays culture will be able to have children, and the brains that are selected, in this case by females, will be the brain blueprints of the future

so in a few hundred years we will all be boring love crazeid daters

Sort of.

Natural selection relies on certain traits being favorable in comparison to others. Human society allows even those with unfavorable traits to survive, and reproduce.

Thanks to modern technology, we've made the playing field much more even.

Yes, and in many cases that is good for individuals, though maybe not for homo sapiens itself!
