The Democrats can careless about the troops or the war. They are pandering to public opinion. I am more liberal leaning, but I understand the fact that we must finish the job. But, the Democrats have stopped leading and resort to name calling and sticking their tongue out at their opponents. The American public should pass a resolution that says Congress can no longer waste our tax dollars passing non-binding resolutions. But, they got the prime news cycles for the past couple weeks so they accomplished what they wanted.
Furthermore, the American public should ask any Congressman, who originally voted to go to war but now admits that they made a mistake, to resign from office. This isn't an "Ooops I forgot to turn off the iron." This is an "Ooops, I voted wrong and now I am partially to blame for the death of thousands of our soliders." My bad!
The Democrats swore that they were going to lasso the moon within the first 100 days in office and all they've half accomplished is to pass a resolution saying George Bush Sux. Why didn't they spend that time putting together their own plan for the war in Iraq? Why not put forth a legitimate alternative to the President's plan?
I am quitting the Democratic party and becoming an Independent voter. I am tired of belonging to a party that is always reacting instead of acting.

The part where the Middle Easterners give a damn who is in the US Senate.
Understand this, the Muslims want a return to Muslim rule as they had during the Ottoman Empire, they don't care what party is in power in the US. We have already lost face because we gave up on finding the man who attacked us and we are bogged down in Iraq when we should have gotten Osama first instead of leaving him to become an advertisement for Al Qaida invincibility.
Running the war so badly and not winning it in four years tells our enemies that we can be had. It is Bush and his poor handling of Iraq and his loss of focus that has and will cost us the respect of the world in general and the Muslims specifically.

I actually were a witness for 10 years now and at no time have i found some thing wanting in what the dedicated and discreet slave have placed throughout the time of. I actually have known about the innovative days for your time, so this isn't new. What the Governing body is attempting to do is to get us waiting for the excellent day of Armageddon, it is in trouble-free terms actual to do! besides the undeniable fact that i grow to be no longer a believer at the same time as people believed the top grow to be the following, i understand a few who were - and yet they nonetheless are in the society, for they realize that there is not any were else to be. certain, the society has made mistakes, yet they admit to those and make variations. they are imperfect, yet that does no longer lead them to any a lot less Jehovah's representatives on earth! Armegeddon is close and we are making waiting for it and could proceed to evangelise the solid information to all which will listen.

Talking point what??? Who said anything about pulling out troops now? I've heard a number of suggestions to redeploy our troops where they are needed more, letting the stop-lossers get their rest, and continuing to train and build a competent Iraqi police force from Dems and Libs--nothing about a pullout.
The pullout method is something you use instead of birth control.
I think our troops have better things to do then die for Bush's Oil stealing conspiracy,to keep Iraqi Oil from directly competing with the OPEC nations, unless his buddies are making 30 years worth of non-taxable profits.

By the time the middle east recovers from the damage we've inflicted upon their infastructure and diplomatic ties we'll all be dead--Why not worry about something relevant for a change?

Why don't most Conservatives/Republicans understand that not all Liberals/Democrats, feel that way?
I am a Liberal/Democrat and I feel it would be a huge mistake to just pick up and leave Iraq, so stop putting a label on all Liberals!
What part of that is so hard to understand?
I also fought in the First Gulf War!

How long have you had your head in the sand? As long as the U.S. is still there, moderate muslims won't take control. Every rationale Bush has put forward has been disproven (WMD, ties to AQ).
Bush had every chance to make this work and he allowed it to be screwed up. Don't blame Liberals and democrats for what is wrong there. Just look no further than the Bush Administration.

your groveling fear of terrorism allowed the Warmonger and Thief you put in office to go into Iraq on false pretenses and has made the threat of terrorism worse. there's a worldwide arms race going on right now as Muslim nations scramble to arm themselves against American aggression via GW Bush. the whole world frigging warned you people not to go into Iraq (even GW's daddy) but you cheered the Bush war machine on with blind self righteous zeal and as a result we're not only failing in Iraq but in Afghanistan too.
clue for you, genus. there is no such thing as a "war on terror" because you can not make war on a tactic. terrorism is guerrilla war and that kind of war can not be fought with conventional warfare. all you're doing is advocating better stock options for Military Industrial Complex which would be quite happy if the "war on terror" never ends.
PS. for 6 years the Republics had complete dominion over America's domestic and foreign policy and now, after only a month of having a voice, its the Dems fault that everything is a frigging mess. go figure.

that is the stupidest arugment I have ever heard.
us leaving will show that we did our mission to get rid of saddam, that we made a mistake about the WMDs and there is now no need to be there.
the conflict will be worse if we stay- they are upset because we are there!
we need to let them have their civil war, stand on their own two feet, and if they wind up splitting the country up its not our business or our fault

In the REAL War portion of the Iraq mission, we showed the world how weak we aren't. But it's now an occupation, and occupations are nearly impossible. It would not be a sign of weakness to admit that we have no power to control the situation and get out of the way of it.
