You go with them and see the movie and later on you pretend that you haven't seen the movie!
I've done that alot in my teen years.
But it wasn't my parents who didn't want me to see the movie, it was the guy who sold the tickets! So I used to buy another ticket and sneak into the movie I wanted to see in the first place!
If it is a horror movie, then you have to deal with the consequences yourself!

Well I guess you could get other groups of friends who see movies that your parents won't fuss about.

Or perhaps ask your friends if they'd like to see another movie that you can see with them. If they truly are your friends they'll understand and do that.

Otherwise you need to sit down with your parents and without tears or yelling explain why you think their decisions are not fair.

And if the answer's is still no, remember one day you will be living on your own and you will be able to rent whatever movie you want and you'll probably see that these two weren't worth the ten bucks admission anyway.

Not knowing your age, I wouldn't advise sneaking out. That will give your parents the ammunition they may be looking for to prove their fears/worries that you cannot be trusted. I don't know the details of your family life. But do you feel you are overprotected? Some parents just have a lot of trouble "letting go of those apron strings."

But consider that your parents are only trying to do the best they can. That's hard to accept, I know, when you are being deprived of fun and chances to get together with your friends!

Maybe have a talk with them and ask them if they can't allow you a bit more freedom. But don't say, "Well, all my friends can go." Because they might reply, "Well, we don't care...we're your parents and we make the rules!"

By showing you are responsible and helpful and cooperative, maybe eventually they'll loosen up and give you more freedom. And if they do, be sure not to abuse it!

When I was young there were allot of movies I wasn't allowed to see. On my eighteenth birthday I started going to the video rental place and getting those videos. They were all crap, your lucky to not have to waste your money on the mindless drivel Hollywood is is vomiting out these days. When your friends go out to see their movie, go to the video store and rent something with John Wayne, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Fred Astaire, or any other real actor.

Tough break kid. But that is the way life is, sometimes you have to accept what is and keep rolling happily along.
Your parents love you, they obviously care for you if they are so involved as to select which media is good or bad. There are children that have adults near them part of the time then there are Parents, you are blessed with parents. Right or wrong, they care about you and are actively demonstrating that with concern for what things that you are exposed to. I am not saying it is right or wrong, it just is.
Give them a hug and tell them you love them also. They will be there for you for a time, enjoy that time and share the laughter.

If you can't get into the movie and know your friend are going to talk about it at school, type in movie spoilers on any search engine, and sites will come up giving you the whole movie plot so you can at least pretend you went to the movie.

4 options:
- as many have already suggested, discuss it with your parents, maybe their reasons are sensible, maybe they can see your point (in my family, this option never worked). Ask the parents of your friend to intervene.
- tell them you will see another movie (they will never know the truth for some years)
- negotiate with your friend to go to another movie
- download sooner or later the movie from the internet

if you aren't allowed to see the movie, you should talk to your parents about them letting you see the movie. you could say something like, "mom/dad, my friends birthday party is on monday and everyone is going to see ______. i was wondering if i could see the movie and be there for my friend." if they still don't let you, you should probably listen to what they say, and continue to talk to them about it each time something comes up???
