Why aren't Gameboy Color games compatable on the DS?

Gameboy Color games work on the Gameboy Advance so I don't see why they can't work on the DS. That's retarded.

well, it's a handheld system so it can only have so much power and so much programming tucked inside it. it's SMALL. therefore they may have had to choose how many things they could make it do.

making it able to play GBA games was really important because there are lots of GBA games still around, but there's not as many people still playing gameboy color games. so it was probably considered more important to put that power into making DS games work better.

on the other hand computers are getting more powerful all the time so if gameboy color games are the right size (i don't know, I don't have them) then maybe eventually they will make a new DS version that can play them?

if gbc games are a different size from gba games then they can't really put them into the DS, where would they fit?

... no a DS is like upgraded , (thats like asking can GBA video games be accomplished on GB coloration) GBA video games could suitable be accomplished on DS. yet unique GB video games cant (with particularly of luck the'll turn all of them into GBA video games)

I don't know; well the DS is pretty small, and its only compatable with DS & GBA games.

i know i thought so to but a guy who works at comp usa explained its because they didn't have enough room to store the data or something

they made the gba slot differently. get a gba sp. :)
