its a romance and they get seperated by some reason, the guy or girl writes something in a particular book and says "if were ment to be together then you will find this same book" and then years latter they do....... this might not br the exsact discription but you get the jist

Serendipity. A wonderful movie.
John Cusack meets Kate Beckinsale in NY after they both try to buy the same glove and then they end up spending the day together. Then he says he wants to know her name and see her again. She writes her name and number on a piece of paper and it blows away. Since she believes in fate, she writes her name and phone # down in a book and tells him if he finds that book, it is fate and he can call her. The rest of the movie is him finding the book to find her.
