I'm trying to quit smoking, but i cant use the patches - they make me violently sick. Any suggestions????

I usually only smoke 10 a day, and for the past week i have cut out all the day cigarettes and have been smoking just 3 in the evening, but it is these cigarettes that i am finding very difficult to cut out. I have 3 small children, so my life is quite stressful!!!

You need to get a hobby that you can do when you feel the urge for a cigarette. I started playing bass guitar. Maybe you could start knitting? ANYTHING to keep you hands busy, that's what worked for me. Also...always have gum around. That gives your mouth something to do. I was really figity after I quit and having those two things to do helped so much.

Look up on the net, look at pictures of lung cancer, and if you have long hair, think about the kemo-treatments, you might want to think about your children and whose going to take care of them.
I quit smoking over thirteen years ago, I decided I had enough, just tell yourself no, one will hurt, Drink water, eat apples, chew gum, and only you can do this, just STOP!. What I noticed right away my teeth got whiter, my face cleared up, and my clothes smell like me and not the ashtray. I didn't get sick as often and I actually had more energy. Go to the doctor and get on a prescription. I got the nicotine inhaler and my husband got a pill, but I don't remeber the name. I haven't smoked in over a month and my husband is about a week behind me. Good Luck!

Substitute them with chewing gum or liquorice or nuts, even if you slightly gain weight at the beginning. It will be easier to shed the weight off after overcoming the smoking habit.

try to keep in mind that u got kids and their and your future when u pick up a cigarette by the way you smoke a lot, 10 is a lot.

challenge urself-if you dont smoke for the entire day, then have someone give you maybe a dollar. if you keep this up, then you would have money for GOOD desires (clothes, food, movies-basically entertainment) AND ud stop smoking.

my sister stopped smoking by getting hypnotized and it cost her around 40$ per session ( 2 sessions) so your roughly looking at the cost of 2 cartons of ciggs,I think it would be worth the shot

personally, I think you've done great. Maybe cut down slowly to 2 and half for a week, then down to 2, and so on. Good for you.

I couldn't use the patch aether so I just quit cold turkey...And I'm doing fine...

goto rehab, goto a nonsmoking friends house for how ever long and make them be sure to not allow you to ever smoke, and make you not leave unless with them so you cant smoke
