I live in Arkansas, in the Ozarks and my monkey grass was beautiful last winter and throughout summer, not so green this winter, but it has been colder than last winter... I have it detailing a concrete walkway, any suggestions?

I had the same problem last year. So in the early spring I cut my monkey grass back to about 3-4 inches tall. It came back so beautiful!. It came back thicker and taller. I was so surprised and so this year I am planning on giving them a quick hair cut again.

Monkey Grass is a heavy feeder. Feed it with a turf fertilizer, one that does NOT contain any herbicide. Since it is in the lily family, and not a true grass, most herbicides for weeds in turf will harm Monkey Grass. The other answerers are right; mow your Monkey Grass in early February every year.
