how do I get my old sims 2 data to work on the game?

I have all my sims 2 data stored on my computer, but when I try to swap the newly instaled data with the old data, it corrupts and I have to install the game again.

The problem is that your might have a virus and that thing block the entrance.If you have an anti virus clean the whole computer ( all the files) that might help to resolve the problem.Good luck.
