At three months this foal is barely of weaning age. Usually they're weaned at six months... it can be done earlier, but you have to be sure of the nutrition the foal is getting. As others have said, consult a vet NOW with any questions about feed, worming, etc.

Chances are, the foal was still nursing while mom was alive, so I'd get some milk replacer, (lilke Foal-Lac) a bottle and get ready to feed the foal at least once every 4 hours. You can introduce hay and a bit of supplemented 16% protein grain. I'd also get a vitamin supplement like Vita Plus from Farnam.

You also need to get the foal vaccinated. Shivers & Rhino are two deadly diseases foals can contract. Vaccination may help avoid these.

first off...has she started eating hay or grain yet? if so you could probably wean her....there is a product called cool cal...it costs approx. 20 dollars and will help put and keep fat on her. i bought a filly whose mother died....they pan fed her and another can milk (bad choice, both babies were underweight) i was given the second foal because both foals were buddies. they never did take to the high dollar nutrena youth feed i got them...they loved the all stock and horse sweet feeds. prairie grass hay...all they can eat free feed. always have clean fresh water. if in a pen, watch her feet, they will grow fast. and need trimmed often. give plenty of love and handle daily, rubbing all over her body, picking her feet up. email me if you have questions...i will be happy to share with you things i learn from my 2 girls. oh yes...u should worm her. she is probably about 200 lbs or so and ivermectin is a good choice

Be sure to get your vet involved right away to help keep this foal happy and healthy. At this age she will be eating solid food but she may need special suppliments that your vet will be able to get you (or a good equine supply store once you find out what you need).

I would also make sure to feed her a good quality vitamin to ensure healthy bone growth. It's not at all uncommon for a foal this young to survive, but you need to be viagilent and I can't stress enough to work with a good equine vet.
