To go along with my other question, we found when we took off the oil pan that there are metal shavings. Aslo the rods have freeplay in them. Do you think it would be good to put oversize bearings now. #6 cylinder had slight knocking.

first i take the crank to a shop an have it turn, they then can tell you what bearing ,if you try to do it with haveing it turn, you will not be able to turn the motor over,, also they can tell you if you got a flat spot on the crank

if there is metal shavings in the oil pan, then it wouldnt be a good idea to put oversized bearings. you should get the crankshaft machined. and have the engine block machined, have it bore 0.10 over stock. and have the rods adjusted.
