my gears are stuck, i checked my clutch fluid reservoir and it is empty, could this be the problem?? if so what kind does a '00 eclipse take dot 3 or dot 4? most importantly do you think this could be why the gears are stuck???

Yes, this is what is causing your shifts to stick. Once you fill up the reservoir, you'll be fine. You can use transmission fluid to fill it.

DOT 3 fluid should do it. DOT 4 is a little more expensive and it does protect the lines better.
Check out lines and connections for signs of seepage or leaks. There are three cylinders you should check see if their seals are worn out, signs of a leak will show. One of them is located coming through the firewall to the top of your clutch pedal. The other is the master cylinder. And the slave cylinder down on the side of your transmission. Check the lines in between the cylinder too. Replace if neccessary.
there are rebuild kits for all three cylinders. Costs less than replacement.

yea that could cause it.also check the oil,or grease in the tranny.
