If "grotty" means dirty, hell yes. Now "moth eaten" isn't necessarily such a bad thing, just means the person's had them for a while. I've got underpants that are white cotton that I've had for so long and washed so many times (and I use bleach in my whites) that they're pretty raggedy, but they're definitely clean. (I keep them for when Aunt Flow visits every month.) Dirty though? Oh no, there's no reason for dirty underwear, you can rinse a pair out in the sink before you go to bed and hang them up, they'll be clean and dry in the morning, so there's no excuse, rationalization, or explanation for dirty underwear. Besides, if the person didn't feel I was special enough to put on clean underwear for, I don't think it's someone I want to sleep with anyway!
