it is to be read in front of a group of Germans, trying to practice their English. Not only we are not amateurs, but acting is not one of our hobbies. this is just to help the group listen and understand better the language. Thank you.

"All in the Timing" is a great suggestion, especially "Sure Thing".
Also check out Mark Twain's "The Diary of Adam and Eve". "Zoo Story" is a short, but grueling play for 2 men (you didn't specify). For a man and a woman, you can do a scene from "The Fourposter". It's a full-length play, but the scenes are pretty episodic.

Pick up a copy of "All in the Timing," by David Ives. It's a collection of several short plays. They're all comedic -- some are VERY funny -- and there are at least a few that are for two characters.

try "I Hate Hamlet" via Paul Rudnick or "the suited Drama" via Garlock and Taylor (?). do no longer understand the place this is to be discovered on line yet I Hate Hamlet's possibly in a library. i've got finished the two and that they are large in opposition. they're the two very stable comedies that have alot of ability.
