The green leaves have plenty of chloroplasts. The fruit and the roots don't need to perform photosynthesis...that is not their function.

The tomato is a fruit, photosynthesis usually does NOT occur in the fruit of a plant. Usually photosynthesis occurs in the leaves of a plant.

The fruit of a plant doesn't synthesise it's own food, so it doesn't need them. The fruit receives it's energy from the mother plant, which has the cholorplasts.
