Got up from one room, walked to another, then stood there with a total feeling of confusion as to why you entered room 2, and have to go back never ever remembering why it all happened?
How long ago was it?

I did it this morning.
I'd like to know I'm not the only pitiful soul.

No, you're definitely not the only one. It happens to me pretty frequently, I think the last time was day before yesterday while I was getting dressed to go out. I just shrugged and figured whatever it was I went for must not have been important or I would have remembered it!

Something that sometimes helps me to recall it though, is to just go back into room 1 and continue what I was doing. Usually it comes back to me.

I've not only done that, I was on the road headed into the west side of Wilmington, Delaware back in 1995 and suddenly said to myself "This isn't the way to Atlantic City."

Having worked in a hospital and done a fair amount of health care I know we are not alone having this happen {me too} I've see it happen many times :
when people are in strange places
when people are over stressing
when someone blood sugar is low
or when I've just too much going on . . .
around me or in my head

yeah it happens to most people from time to time, i have heard in circadian rhythms our mind will shut down every 90 minutes or so completely.. and this has been attributed to this common problem.. but i dont know if thats true, just plain old forgetfulness or distractions or lack of mindfulness can cause the problem, medications or alcohol or drugs or lack of sleep, illness, hunger.. all sorts of things i would assume can cause this... dont feel bad

Yes. What's worse? I've put the lysol in the fridge and the mayonaise under the sink. That's pretty bad.
