Thanks-further digging has unearthed the above. I along with many people, thought Vera Drake was a real person.

Vera Drake was a fictitious character so we will never know what happened to her afterwards.
Unless of course they do a sequel.
The storyline was based on true events from that period.

No sorry I don't know and I'm really fed up I missed this film. My mum was telling me about it on the phone just minutes ago and she said it was well worth watching.

We'll never know. The film ended with her in prison, and then the film ended.
