I always find myself doodling on money, someone told me that it is a very bad thing to do, even illegal, is that true? What do you think?

YES IT IS A CRIME TO WRITE ON MONEY OR DESTROY IT AS WELL. The crazy thing about money is that when it hit's a certain age it gett's burn to ash wow bum out.

It is a federal offense to deface Federal Property. The money itself is Federal Property. So, yes you could be sent to a Federal Prison if convicted.

It's actually a defacing of government property. So is putting coins in a vice. I've never seen anyone punished for it.

Defacing money is a federal crime.

People put lots of money into vices and it is not against the law. Unless you're talking about a vise, and that would be defacing money.
