The greater Daytona Beach area is a nice place to live. I lived there for two years. There are alot of family activities to enjoy in the area...beaches, fishing, lots of nice parks, the races if you are a Nascar fan. As far as where exactly to live I would stay away from Daytona itself..go north to Ormond Beach or south to Port Orange. In Daytona you have to deal with spring breakers, bike week, and the many many tourists and vacationers. Also, Daytona has some not so nice areas, shady people. One other drawback is, depending on what you do for a living, the job market is not great being that its a beach town and not a bigger city. We ended up moving to Orlando for that very reason...now we just spend our weekends there.
