Florida (or anywhere else on the gulf coast) is only a day's drive. You can stay in a cheap hotel and spend most of your time at the beach. Then your only expenses are the hotel and food.

The Ozarks are a nice, quiet place to go for a get-away.

Best bet: find a way to rent a room in a place like "Extended Stay America" where you have access to a kitchenette. Then, you can eat most of your meals in your room and save loads of money.
