with lots of schooling you can probably find a job doing research at zoo's or scientific facilities, or in field research, but otherwise you will most likely have to start at the bottom and work your way up and if you are lucky when you get there the pay will be well but a lot of times it is not. most of us do it for the love of the animals and not the pay, because the pay is not always the best. good luck.

there is many jobs that you can work with animals
you could be a vet, open up a pet store, a doggy daycare, pet groomer, work at a zoo or an animal rehabitlitaion center, you can be a dog trainer and teach them to be a seeing eye dog

I went to dog training school and specialized in aggression training. I also learned to groom dog specializing in behavioral problems.
Neither one paid good but I love working with strong willed dogs. I loved the work more than I loved the money. My work has always be fun for me and very satisfying

You might think about volunteering on weekends at a shelter for a start before taking the plunge.
I don't know the criterion, it varies from state-to-state and country-to-country.
