I just bought a new Compaq pc. My DELL crashed and IM gonna sell it for parts or whatever. But before I do will the dvd burner from the DELL work in my Compaq?

yes it should, most everything in a PC is standardized and interoperable with other PCs

It sure will. Just be sure to have the jumper set to slave or master and have the computer off when working on it. Make sure you are properly grounded before working on it too.

They don't play well with others. Compaq is a proprietary system.

i'm sure you could. Just take it to best buy or a computer repair store and they could probably do it or you could do it yourself.
