I just got into this whole "blogging" thing, and I was wondering, are there any JavaScript or some kind of hit counter that doesn't count my visits to the site as hits? Thanks.

Register for a statcounter.com account and set it up using the forms provided. Somewhere in the setup there is an option to block your IP, your unique identifier, and in the tools/settings after setup there is also a cookie you can place on your machine to additioanlly not count your views if your IP is dynamic.

If you have the ability to edit the script you can have it not record the hit if it sees your IP address, providing you have a static address. Or you could set a cookie and go by that. Without specifics on what kind of counter it is, giving a better answer is difficult. Update: To reset this counter, just right click on the hit counter, click on front page components, then set the counter and the number of digits. You can change the style of the counter from there also. See if that area allows you to set what you need. Also check to see if it uploaded some file you can manually edit that goes with this counter.
