That means someone called you and have their phone number hidden. You know how to do that don't you? In case you don't. It's *67 before you dial your number and your number will be blocked on the other person's cell phone when you call. It's stupid to do that anyway cuz they'll think that you're insecure by blocking your number. So who ever called you that late didn't want you to know who called. That person is immature or something.

I turn my cell off overnight. If someone wants to reach me bad enough, they will leave voicemail.. Restricted could be a cell phone out of State, or someone that has 'blocked' their number, many times the word 'restricted' can mean from out of the area as well as blocked. Not all phone carriers agree on how they handle blocked call CID announcements. I have seen 'private', 'out of area', 'restricted', 'unknown', 'blocked'..

Probably some wacko with a restricted private number to bother freely at no-hours of the night, just ignore him, he was probably wasted and try to get in touch with his ex and ended up dialing a wrong #. If it happends again repetedely report that matter to your mobile Co. so they can trace your incoming calls.

The person who called made it so you couldn't see their number. You can do this by dialing *67 before the number.
