Honestly, despite the gym's pool being heated, I still find it to be cold. I'm someone who get's cold easily and I've been told in a heated and unheated pool that if you just move (swim) you'll heat up. I don't know if it works because even as I move in the water, I start to freeze more. I think it just depends how you're body reacts to cold. If it doesn't react well - then even keeping yourself moving won't work. I found that moving to the whirlpool (heated) and the wet sauna helped a lot, because I would let myself get to where I felt too hot and needed the cold water to 'cool down'. If you have a gym nearby, and can afford the membership fees the pools there are heated and you'll have a better chance of being able to keep warm as you move. 24 hour fitness I think keeps their pool between 75 degrees and 81. To me that is still too cold, I end up frozen but the night I went apparently everyone mentioned that the pool seemed abnormally cold. As for their fees, 24 hour fitness was rather inexpensive for my husband and I. Course, he got the membership as a present, (three years for about $200) and they let him bring a friend for $15 a month which worked to our advantage since we only have one car - obviously since I can't drive a stick, I'm not going to go to the gym without him.
I'm not sure if the wetsuit will help keep you warm or not, what I would suggest is maybe sending an email to Speedo from their website (if you can) or find one in a store, and ask the associates there. In places that sell this type of equipment, in my experience, the associates are very knowledgeable about it too.
Hope this helps some, I wish I had a definitive answer for ya, but since I get cold in any water that's below my own body temperature, I'm afraid this is the best advice I can offer.

Sorry! Have to do this! Ever heard of a "three dog night!?" Aside from being an early rock group, it was a term used to describe how cold the night was! And how many dogs it took to keep warm.Pun intended! If the dog is not an outdoor fella, have'em sleep in the tent with you. Make sure he is dry as a wet dog will sour your experience. If an outdoor fella, have'm sleep on dry vegetation or supply him with a ground cloth, blanket or something. And if you just can't bear the thought of dog sleeping outside, alone, in the cold with wild animals.....havem sleep inside with you. Just make sure you can open tent door quickly if it starts barking as sound will hurt your ears and do damage. And also have a plan for if and when it just growles in a fierce quiet way....

no clothing will not help you keep warm if you are just lap swimming. if you want to stay warm you are just going to have to go faster. there is no way. sry to say!

you could just wear a speedo brief and then tread water when your not moving. or you could push yourself to go faster and then you use more energy. you could wear a speedo with boardshorts over it. that would make it a little warmer for you
