i would like to go into a career as a vet receptionist/vet assistant. it seems there is more jobs for vet techs than an assistant. so is it possible to get a degree or certificate in vet tech withOUT requiring you to take general education courses? also, how do you get certified as a vet tech, do you HAVE to take general education courses and get a degree in order to get certified and be a vet tech? thank u in advance.

Looks like good advice has been kind of scarce here....I would suggest contacting a few veteranarians in your area & after expressing your interest , ask if they could give you some advice as to what courses would be best suited for the job, & what to spend less time on.

Most people are flattered to have someone ask their advice regarding joining that profession or something related. Give it a try. Call some in another town if need be. Good Luck !!

A Vet Tech is a vet nurse. you in many situations want a 2 year degree to artwork as a vet tech, yet skills do decision with some states. income might want to correctly be everywhere from $19,000 to $40-one,000. Vet Assistants are helpers to the Vet Techs and Vets. maximum veterinary clinics will employ assistants with a extreme college degree. There are certificate courses for vet helping, yet technically there is not any want for them because you don't desire to be qualified to be a vet assistant. income might want to correctly be between $15,000 and $31,000 besides the undeniable fact that that is continually on the decrease section.
