My guess is that if they still had their hearing and knew how to work their remote, they would turn that clown off.

Why do you think the majority of Bill O'Reilly fans are older than dirt?

I like your answer because it implies that older Americans would still hate the blow hard if they could hear what he says.
I however unfortunate have a different theory. What the world calls the Greatest Generation gave us fascism, communism, Paul Winchell, J. Edger Hoover, and Joe McCarthy, he is their kind of commentator.

I don't think age is the defining demographic for O'Reilly fans. I think it's arrogance, smugness, or perhaps being sheep who will believe only what they hear on Fox News.

You watch any REAL news program, and it will focus on the issues. It will focus on what's really going on. I am more inclined to trust these other news programs because the message is the same regardless of where I go or what I watch. It's the same on MSNBC, it's the same on the BBC, it's the same on CNN, it's the same on CBS and ABC. Then you go and watch Fox News, and O'Reilly's show and the only things they ever talk about are "Liberal bias" and how God seems to love them better. EVERY. FREAKING. TIME.

Your question is a good one, because it begins to ask the question of why would people honestly watch this clown in the first place... what is it about him that appeals to certain people, when 90% of the world would rather slap the guy in the face than listen to his pathetic, agenda-driven stereotyping and lies?

Since his show has higher ratings than all the other cable news shows put together, there must be a lot of all age groups watching.

You'd be surprised how many of us young people are much more informed than the older generations who had to listen to one broadcaster who would lie and tell the viewers the liberal agenda. Now we have tons of sources and no longer wallow in a sea of liberal ignorance.

Wait til you grow up and you'll understand better.

I don't believe that is necessarily a true statement. I know at 3 people who are O'Reilly fans. They are in their 30's. Maybe you would consider that to be older than dirt. :))

I don't think it's a question of age. HE is older than fossilized amber and his IQ is equivalent to the total number of original teeth he has in his putrid mouth.
O'Lielly is nothing but a bully. If you don't agree with him, he shouts you down and tells you to shut up or cuts off your microphohe. Or better yet, he has faux security show up at your house if you mention Keith Olbermann's name to him.He works for faux noise and just regurgitates the rantings and ravings of his overseer, rupert murdick. You will never hear anything that resembles intelligence from him (Mr. Fair and Balanced) because he doesn't have a brain. If one would have an xray of the inside of his head, it would resemble a loofah.
He is the biggest hypocrite (accused the liberals for trying to remove the word Christmas and on his own website sold xmas ornaments with the words "Happy Holidays" on them)
So to summarize, it has nothing to do with age but more with lack of intelligence on his viewers part.

Untrue my cheesy friend. I am 48 and most of my friends are in their 30's and we watch Bill every nite. I think most of O'Reillys fans are thoughtful, informed intelligent people who care dearly about the direction this country is heading.

I don't know if this is true or not. I do not know what "older than dirt" even means.

Is this an attempt to insinuate age discrimination into the political scenery?

I recommend that you give your grandma a call today and ask her.

And do you have so little to do that you are hard at research on Bill O'Reilly? Sounds like you spend more time thinkiing about Bill.

Bill caters to the non thinking crowd, those who believe that at end of a sound bite reply is all the information you need.
There are many sites that expose Mr. Reilly as the lying, conniving, GOP mouth piece that he is.

They are old and set in their ways. O'Reilly still thinks like old america (in every way) and these are people who long for those days again.
