I would say spend a lot of time observing boys, and then finding one that would train you best. You should also maybe study a boy that is the exact age boy you are playing, for instance, if you are playing an eight year old, you really shouldn't have to do anything to your voice, just your walk. Furthermore, if you are playing a sixteen year old, you will have to do a lot to modify your walk AND your speech.

Find a boy that would be willing to have to as a shadow and train you. Then, take notes on his behavior, and pretend to be him... That is what acting is about!

Depending on how old you are and how old the character is, it's not that difficult. My advice is to choose a boy in your school, maybe a friend or someone who reminds you of the character, and pay very close attention to his mannerisms. Try to walk, sit, and gesture like him. After a while, it'll feel more natural. As for the voice, depending on the age of the boy you might not need to adjust. For me, I've found that if you work out the physical side the voice and whatnot will adjust as well.

Watch someone about the age and "look" of the person in the play and try to notice the actions they take. Do this surreptituosly! Watch how boys often lift their heels first when they are walking!

I agree with the other answer. Observe and try it. Your voice can be lowered simply by putting it into your chest. Hum in any key and place it in different places. Your forehead, cheeks, mouth, throat and chest, you'll feel the difference. You can make your voice naturally fall in your chest and you'll have a lower, but not fake sounding voice... Body-wise, observe and copy even... Good luck!

i've done this before... wasn't that bad

umm for movements/gestures study what your guy friends do or ask them what they would do in the situation of your character's scenes. have a brother? ask him too.. the more the merrier

as for the voice, i would ask the person in charge if you needed to do that, is so experiment with different voices that you hear throughout the day

if he/she says that you don't have to than concentrate more on the gestures- this way it will still be a good convincing role...

best of luck

There's no better way to learn how to be a boy than to study boys. Find someone who's most like your character and try your best to copy them.

It's really very difficult to do this successfully and takes a lot of practice. Unless you are an experienced actress, I think you are going to have trouble being convincing. Most people are not adept at it.

Don't try. Boys your age rarely have had their voices change yet. Just 'be' a boy and everyone will believe you 'are' a boy.

depending on how old of a guy you're playing, just imitate other guys. i once had to play an old, british guy in drama class. it's hard, just keep working at it. this sounds gross, but you have to BECOME the guy. you would become your character in any other situation, so do it in this one too.
