I think part of the reason soccer isn't as popular in America is that people don't often grow up playing it from a young age. Also, we seem to be nationally enamored with basketball, baseball, and american football.
I do have to complain, however, that I can't watch soccer as much as I'd like because it's rarely on TV and never on the radio where I live!

AmEricans don't hate soccer. I personally love soccer and I have been playing soccer since I was five and I still love it. The town I live in has a lot of soccer teams and a great varsity and junior varsity team. And Americans cheer on our soccer teams as much as your country cheers on your country's team.

A lot of people like soccer. The other day that the US played, there were alot of americans supporting them.
It seems soccer its just more popular in other countries.
Every country has their favorite sport but all other sports are practice as well.

Let me see cricket soccer rugby is played on the international fields of sport, one does not see America taking part on a high level except for female soccer. What i hear from Americans they dont get the game of cricket at all. Soccer America done not too bad in the last world cup Donovan London made a name for himself, rugby i think personally is too hard for the average American. so am i going to get blasted for this reply.

- Can't throw us all in one bag.
We're divided. The tried and true football (with the hands!), baseball, basketball crowd pretty much hate soccer. But there are lots of folks who love it - mostly coastals, nationlized citizens and so forth. Look to the summer friendlies with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Celtic, Barcelona, ans so forth. The matches are sold out in hours!

hey now, I love soccer. I live in a city that loves soccer. The bigger cities are more into football. I think most guys thing football is a tougher sport because you hit eachother but thats dumb because you wear a helmet and pads in football and in soccer you hit eachother a lot and you don't wear pads!

Number one, try spell check. Number two, we don't hate soccer, it's just not our favorite. I'm sure if you had seen LaCrosse, you would get a kick out of it, but it just would not be your favorite. Fact find a little better before your judge.
