Enter into a managment training program in a Fortune 500 company. Many of the programs offer people training in multiple fields. You would have a well rounded exposure.

Also, go study for your PHR. Getting that tells an employer you are serious and are familiar with your state and federal laws regarding employment, benefits and leave.
