well you have already got anouther guage so i'm think bearings are worn bad. the thing is if the bearings are that worn chances are your crank will have to be turned also. If your going that far with an engine it is never a good idea not to do it complete as fixing just the top or just the bottom of the engine usually is a short term repair. Any experienced mechanic will tell you this. You must have a lot of miles on this baby or has not being maitained very well...Lets

the cam is prob warn along with the main bearings, my 78 ford did the same thing, by a quart of lucas oil adative and run 20/50 weight oil, when it warms up it will have a lot more pressure, also replace the sending unit it could be giving a false reading to the oil gauge, trust me these things gave new life to my old ford

Your sending unit or gauge may be bad. Make sure your oil pressure is really that low before you start worrying about replacing bearings. You can buy an aftermarket gauge kit at any parts store for $20 or less. I would recommend doing that first, or take it to a mechanic that can check the pressure for you.

If you keep your oil and filter changed, and no blokage. Then it could be guage, sending unit, or bearing. If bearing scorched causeing oil to super heat and through off before pressure buildup. If it is bearing you will have problem. In any case you need to repair problem, lack of oil pressure will cause serious problems no matter the cause.

Is it a straight 6? If so, then you are looking at a classic ford problem. It would, in fact, be a crank. They do that trick at, or around, 100,000 miles. There are kits for as little as $150.00, with a crank and bearings. It's little more than shade tree work, though.

mostly likly guage wrong, engine should make more psi cold oil is thicker harder to pump, if engine is worn bad it will not produce high psi warm, 1psi for 100 rpm is min. Likely guauge is not reading right

Your engine is worn out,(the main & rod bearings) as your engine warms the clearances expand..Good luck in ford country

the first thing i would change is the sending unit.yea,a bearing will make your pressure drop, but i would change the sending unit first and see if that helps.
