Write an equation that shows the relationship between time (t) and the oven temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (F).

Time - Temperature
0 - 50
1 - 70
2 - 90
3 - 110
4 - 130
5 - 150

I appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

study your data to find the pattern...here it is with each unit of time, the temp goes up 20 degrees.

the starting temp is 50 so after one hour, you add 20, after 2 hours you add 2(20) or 40, after 3 hours you add 3(20) or 60 and so on...

F = 50 + 20t
check this

if F=150 and t= 5 does it work?

F = 50 + 20t
150 = 50 + 20(5)
150 = 50 + 100
150 = 150

looks good to me...so your equation is:
F = 50 + 20t

Notice that as each minute passes the temperature rises by 20. So the equation is: temperature = starting temperature plus 20 times the number of minutes OR temperature = 50 + 20time

First find the slope using the equation slope= y2-y1/ x2-x1. For the points use any pair of information you have having time be x and teperature be y. After finding the slope, use the point slope formula y-y1= m(x-x1) using the slope that you found and any point you choose. Good luck.

the oven temp rises 20 degrees every minute.That is what it is saying but, I don't quite get what to do other than counting by 20's after 50degrees.

because it increases by a consistent amount, you can tell that it's linear.
as a result, you can take any two points and find the slope and use that in the equation.
