if that is all that is wrong with it then it should be all right to do this , I've done it on other cars with crappy column mount switches , you should really wire it so the push button activates a relay to put power to the solenoid , just in case.

No it wont! your steering wheel is locked when the ignition is locked in the off position.(unless you stole the car and busted the ignition switch on the coll-om). Do yourself a favor and avoid many electrical problems have a new ignition switch put in the coll om! I had mine replaced in a shop and it only cost me $357.00. Its a cheep repair and will be much better for your cars electrical system!!! And if you cant aford the repair I will send you the money as I have way too much money and need to lighten my load!

yes but only if its wired directly to the starter
