For the last 3 weeks I have been having bad pains in my back and muscle spasms they did an x-ray and found I have severe inflamation in my back and they have now ordered an MRI. Today I noticed that I am not having much pain could this be due to the fact of the meds they have put me on and it is masking what the problem is? I don't want to do un needed tests. They have me taking ibprofen 600mg and cyclobenzapr 5mg. Any help or advice.

The meds you're taking are helping the inflammation (ibuprofen) and relaxing the muscles (cyclobenzapr) Chances are you'll be completely fine but doctors don't know anything unless they do lots of tests and prescribe meds. If I were you, after everything calms down, I'd get some physical therapy to get those muscles back where you want them to be. Some slow and simple exercise ought to have you as good as new. Just take it slow and don't re-injure yourself.

A MRI will hopefully explain a lot more and give the doctors more direction as to what treatment to offer. If it is a disk injury it may be a long road but all depends on how your body deals with pain.
