Growing up in the sixties/seventies -- well there were just quite a few. The ones that stand out in my mind are:

Stairway to Heaven-- Led Zeppelin
Bohemian Rhapsody -- Queen
While my Guitar Gently Weeps -- Beatles of course
Whole Lotta Love- Led Z.
Smoke on the Water -- Deep Purple

I'm sure I'm forgetting some that I listened to a lot and loved but with my "baby boomer" memory-- well you know how it is sometimes. haha.

November Rain has the best Solo but The Riff goes to to Nirvana and Cobain. R.I.P Kurt. If you just got into rock then You are still probally missing out a little bit try some more alternative like Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Maybe some Metal like Iron Maiden and Metallica and Classic rock like Led Zeppelin is still good as well.
