My flatmate owns the router and he is connected by cable to the router. I want to connect using wireless. I can connect to the router, no problem but I cant connected to internet explorer.
Im new to this wireless technology so please dont be too technical with your replies. Thx

your laptop is talking to the router, you have to go to a website and put in your friends name, e-mail and so on. i had the same problem. i too have a laptop and going wireless, DSL is a dream come true

Hi, in addition to the other answers it may depend on your friends router why you cannot connect wirelessly. I presume you can connect ok if you are wired to the router. On my netgear router I can disable the wireless so nothing can connect wirelessly. Also I have to include my wireless laptop in the allow list on the router. Hope this helps

I use to have the same problem. The first guy is right, you have to set up the wireless connection.
Go to start, all programs and look thew the programs SUMMIT is a good program ... i dont know what kind of computer you have so i cant help much.

check out your settings for internet explorer (tools/internet options/connections) make sure that it is set up for never dial a connection - if it isn't select it and try again

It may sound silly but have you set up your laptop for wireless networking? ( use network wizard in win xp )
