ok. here's the problem. my car was in park. somehow the car jumped out of park and started rolling down the hill. the car said that it was still in park. and also when you try to go in reverse sometimes it wont go into reverse it will go into neutral and you have to put it into reverse again to back up. answers would be helpful. thanks

You mentioned that your car was on a hill, that leads me to believe that probably your parking pin broke off, the emergency brake should have been applied even in most slightest of inclines.
If not, then 2nd I would recommend the parking linkage, but I'm betting on the above mentioned.

u simply need to adjust the linkage

adjust your linkage.even though it says its in park,it is in neutral.also your linkage could have snapped.

linkage mountig bolts, or brakets are loose.
