it just makes no sense, why are airsoft guns so expensive?

well that certainly makes sense now, i mean it's damn metal for god's sake, these things go for over a grand.

because of all the work that goes into each one. all airsoft guns (the good ones) need a high end motor and gear box, specially precise machined barrels, all the electronics to make the gun work, and the machining for the bodies isn't cheap. it's not like something that's just slapped together the guns have to be made *PRECISE* and that costs money. when you get into higher rates of fire like the multiple thousand dollar machinegun models you need even stronger engines and gear boxes, so that the gun doesn't break down.


there are probably other reasons too but hte need for precision and quality is the main issue.

it depends on quality or maker. Tokyo Mauri airsoft guns go for $250+, and those guns have awesome performance to go with the near-real looks. Others use cheaper plastic and the material is another one of the things that decides price. I've seen clear plastic airsoft guns go for around $15-$20. so yeah, it all depends

They are in high demand...Most kids want one, so they jack up the prices because they know if the kids want them bad enough that they can get so much money out of them. Just wait til they aren't such high demand and the prices will go down.
